Rainbow Tavern & Lodge
In 2015, Solace Graphics, with Thumbler.net, designed a new logo and brandmark for the Rainbow Lodge. In 2019, Solace Graphics followed this leading act by installing an aluminum panel digitally printed sign alongside Hwy 80, serving as a locator, advertisement, and reference to this historic landmark. This sign continues to evolve, with the recent addition of announcement panels and a flag at the top of an 80-foot pole. Solace Graphics is known for building relationships, not just signs!
Grass Valley RV Resort
More than just a place to park your RV, Grass Valley RV Resort has created a destination, and this sign conveys the quality and sense of style that this RV resort embodies. This monument sign was constructed from stainless steel plasma-cut letters on a steel rectangle supported by brick veneer-covered cement posts. Solace Graphics provides many other facility information signs on an ongoing basis for this popular destination.
5 Mile House
In 2024, new owners sought to revive the traditional name for this historic roadhouse, which dates back over a hundred years, located along Highway 20, five miles from Nevada City. Solace was able to repurpose components while adding a new face to this high-visibility, attractive historic sign, which must withstand various weather conditions.
City of Loomis
Solace Graphics designed a brandmark, in collaboration with community members and Thumbler.net, for the City of Loomis in 2024. The design was then used to construct this Welcome sign at the corner of Sierra College and Taylor Road in Loomis. Built with a steel frame, aluminum powder-coated letters, and redwood planks, this sign speaks to durability and a strong public presence in a high-traffic intersection. It is designed to reflect the historic fruit sheds of this region.
Monkey Cat
Solace Graphics created and installed a business for this popular restaurant in central Auburn. Brushed aluminum faces on router-cut foam letters were installed with digitally printed reflective eyes onto aluminum composite sign boards.
This highly durable sign looks better each year as the creeping fig enhances the building face and ties the eyes and sign together.
This sign has required no maintenance or upkeep in over 15 years, thanks to Solace Graphics’ expert craftsmanship.
Jernigan’s Grill
Good timing with good luck brought us to Jernigan’s Grill when it opened in 2012! Solace Graphics designed the brandmark, which is seen around town on countless t-shirts and hats from this popular, family-friendly pub and grill. The primary sign is roof-mounted, featuring a wood-framed digital print and lights for enhanced nighttime visibility.
Empire Shoes
Built over a decade ago, this wood-framed digital print on Medium Density Overlay (MDO) sign board communicates clearly that this is a quality shoe shop. Recent updates now integrate the premium brands offered by this Grass Valley retail mainstay. The sign relates to the interiors, taking into consideration its historic setting on Mill Street. Door signage and windows complete the picture of this jewel-box, premium shoe store.
Greg Klein Attorney at Law
This local law office’s marquis sign was designed to relate to downtown Nevada City’s historic district. The wood-framed digital print is mounted on a highly durable MDO sign, which hangs from a steel bracket anchored into the building. This sign is easily visible from a car or sidewalk, enhancing the charm of the street. Note: This sign has easily adapted to a new Nevada City location; its versatility adds to its value.
City of Colfax rebranding, digital billboards, roundabout, and wayfinding street signs
Solace Graphics, working with Thumbler.net, collaborated with the City of Colfax’s city manager and council members to craft a new brandmark for the city in 2019. Multiple versions of this new brandmark were placed around the city. This included the steel sign frame supporting an aluminum digital, reflective, printed sign face, framed by railroad ties from 1903, as well as wayfinding signs and digital billboards.
Grass Valley Reading Room
Christian Science Reading Rooms have a presence across America. This non-profit facility, located on Mill Street in Grass Valley, got a sign upgrade with vinyl window lettering designed and applied by Solace Graphics.
Nevada City Crystal & Glass
One of the longest-standing gift shops in Nevada City, this painted MDO with vinyl cut letters is hung from steel chains for strong visibility from both pedestrians and traffic. Like many signs, this sign required special permitting and consideration due to its location in Nevada City’s Downtown Historic District.
Nevada City Fur Traders
Still a staple of Downtown Nevada City, The Fur Traders continues to be a premium boutique attracting visitors from near and far. This sign used a variety of media, including digital print, hand-built molding, and vinyl lettering.
